Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Semisonic: “Closing Time”
Spring brings with it many new beginnings. It is for many a time of hope and renewal, a movement towards the outdoors, and an opportunity for change.
But change is disruptive. It can be scary. It often means facing the unknown. It also means giving up something that you might be comfortable with, even if you’re not happy. It means closing a door to a way of thinking, feeling, or being so that you can open a new door, making way for something different.
New leaves cannot emerge until the old ones have fallen from the trees. Spring cannot arrive until winter is gone. Young adults on their way to new adventures first have to end their years of high school and say goodbye to friends and often family. These are difficult, but exciting, evolutions.
Embracing change, and accepting the losses of our current patterns, allow the space for growth and our potential for greater wellness and happiness. Are you ready for change? Does the unknown look better than the known? Are you ready to let go of old behaviors to allow the opportunity for new ones to emerge?
